Codes of Behaviour

Creating a Positive Little Athletics Experience

At Prestons Robins Little Athletics Centre, we want every athlete, parent, volunteer and official to enjoy a safe, welcoming and respectful environment.

We follow the Little Athletics NSW Codes of Behaviour and expect everyone involved in our Centre to demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect and teamwork at all times. These standards help ensure every child can participate, learn and have fun.

Everyone’s Responsibility

Whether you’re an athlete, parent, spectator, coach, volunteer or official, we ask that you:

  • Treat everyone with respect and courtesy.
  • Encourage positive sportsmanship and fair play.
  • Respect the decisions of officials.
  • Support all athletes regardless of their ability or experience.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and family-friendly environment.
  • Represent Prestons Robins LAC in a positive manner at all times.

Athlete Code of Behaviour

All athletes are expected to:

  • Listen to and respect coaches, officials and volunteers.
  • Compete fairly and always try their best.
  • Accept officials’ decisions without arguing.
  • Encourage and respect fellow athletes.
  • Never bully, intimidate or deliberately distract others.
  • Control their behaviour and use equipment responsibly.
  • Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times.
  • Respect people of all backgrounds, cultures, genders and abilities.

Parent & Spectator Code of Behaviour

Parents, carers and spectators play an important role in creating a positive competition environment.

Please:

  • Encourage effort and participation rather than winning.
  • Cheer positively for all athletes.
  • Respect officials and volunteers.
  • Never abuse, threaten or intimidate anyone.
  • Stay in designated spectator areas unless assisting in an official role.
  • Set a positive example through your behaviour and language.
  • Help make Friday nights enjoyable for every family.

Volunteers, Coaches & Officials

Our volunteers help make every competition possible.

When volunteering, we ask that you:

  • Treat every athlete fairly and equally.
  • Encourage participation and skill development.
  • Lead by example.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment.
  • Use appropriate language and behaviour.
  • Respect all athletes, parents and fellow volunteers.
  • Follow Little Athletics NSW policies and Centre procedures.

If There Is a Concern

If you witness behaviour that does not meet our Codes of Behaviour:

  1. Do not become involved in the incident yourself.
  2. Speak with your Age Manager or a Committee Member.
  3. The Committee will investigate all concerns fairly and confidentially.
  4. Depending on the circumstances, outcomes may include a warning, suspension or referral to Little Athletics NSW.

Working Together

Little Athletics is built on Family, Fun & Fitness.

By showing respect, encouraging one another and working together, we create an environment where every child can develop confidence, friendships and a lifelong enjoyment of athletics.

Thank you for helping make Prestons Robins Little Athletics Centre a welcoming place for everyone.
